Lorain's Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church to host Divine Mercy series
Lorainâs Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, located at the corner of West 15th Street and Lexington Avenue, will offer a five-week program starting Sept. 17.
The series of presentations called Divine Mercy features a DVD series best-selling author Father Michael Gaitley, and will cover the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, the papacy of John Paul II and the profound connection between divine mercy and Marian consecration, according to church officials.
The series will take place each week from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Sundays, followed by a short group discussion.
Organizer Jen Sanders said the series is a continuation of events following the churchâs recognition of the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of the Blessed Mother in Fatima, Portugal.Advertisement
âThe series itself is one of the full gamut of the history of Poland, Pope John Paul II and Our Lady of Fatima,â Sanders said.
In May 2017, the church marked the centennial anniversary with a weekâs worth of events between May 16 and May 24.
In honoring the anniversary, the Lorain congregation was the only church in northeast area to host the Cleveland Diocesan Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, organizers said.
The event is free and open to the public.
Parking is available in the 14th Street parking lot adjacent to the church.
Anyone who would like more information is asked to call Sanders at 440-258-6339.
