Y&R Singapore's ECD Troy Lim exits agency
Y&R Singaporeâs executive creative director, Troy Lim (pictured), has left the agency. Lim joined Y&R last June, to work together with CEO Shirley Tay. Lim left Publicis Singapore earlier last year, where he was also an executive creative director.
Marketing has reached out to Y&R Singapore and Lim for comment.
Prior to his stint at Publicis and Y&R, Lim was last with Ogilvy. He left the agency with Jon Loke, also an ECD as they moved to Publicis Singapore in December 2015. Lim has also worked with BBDO, Lowe Singapore and Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore.
In his various capacity in the creative field, Lim has been the creative lead for clients such as Audi, Scoot, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (SG50), National Environment Agency and Singapore Health Promotion Board. Lim also sits on the advisory board of Singapore Polytechnicâs School of Communicatio ns and is a supporter of creative talent and continual learning.
Most recently, WPP confirmed that it is merging VML and Y&R to form VMLY&R, a move which comes days after the network was tipped to be uniting the two agency brands. The new entity will be fully operational in early 2019 and consist of more than 7,000 people, a statement read.
VMLY&R will be led by Jon Cook as global CEO, who reports to Mark Read, CEO of WPP. Meanwhile, David Sable, former global CEO of Y&R will continue to support the new entity as non-executive chairman while transitioning to a new role within WPP. In addition, based in Singapore and China respectively, Tripti Lochan and Yi Chung Tay have also been named co-CEOs of VMLY&R Asia, VML confirmed to Marketing.
