Singapore Airlines will offer non-stop flights between Sea-Tac Airport and Singapore in 2019.

This will be the longest flight available through Sea-Tac Airport, with a total distance of 8,071 miles. The trip will take the title away from Emirates' flight between Seattle and Dubai, a distance of 7,425 miles.

Singapore Airlines will begin offering the flights on Sept. 3, 2019, according to a press release. The airline will use Airbus A350-900 planes on the route, which will contain 42 business class seats, 24 premium economy class seats and 187 economy class seats.

The airline plans to have flights departing Singapore at 9:25 a.m. local time on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving in Seattle at 9:05 a.m. Pacific the same day, pending approval by regulators. The return flight will depart Sea ttle at 10:40 a.m. Pacific on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving in Singapore at 5:30 p.m. local time the following day. By October 2019, the airline hopes to add an additional flight on Sunday, pending approval.

"Our new non-stop flights to Seattle are another demonstration of our commitment to expand our operations in the important US market and grow our network reach. The new services will also further strengthen the Singapore hub by providing customers faster and more convenient connectivity from key markets such as Southeast Asia, South Asia and Australasia to North America," said Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong said in the release.

Singapore Airlines says the addition of a flight to Seattle will compliment existing services to Houston, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco, and will bring total number of trips between Singapore and the U.S. to 57 flights per week. Seattle was selected by the airline as its next U.S. destination because it is "one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S., with a strong and diverse economy" plus its attractiveness to tourists.

The first tickets for the flight will go on sale on this week, starting Nov. 7.
